Hey friend,
Recently, my sister and I had one of the most vulnerable conversations we have probably ever had. It was not planned. There was no agenda. It simply happened.
Looking back, I don’t know if that conversation would have come up at any other time. We have both been in seasons of navigating friendships and just speaking openly about things we had not talked about before.
It really showed me how important timing and seasons are in friendships.
Some conversations cannot be forced.
Some levels of honesty happen only when we feel ready.
And sometimes, letting friendships grow means allowing people to be where they are, not where we expect them to be.
That does not mean ignoring our own feelings. It means staying sensitive to how conversations evolve. Noticing what feels healthy, and acknowledging what feels uncomfortable.
Friendship is not only about depth. It is also about discernment. Knowing when to draw closer, how to listen better, and when to allow things unfold without trying to control the outcome.
Question:
What season are your friendships currently in?
