Hey friend,
One thing I am learning is that friendship is not a one-time agreement.
We do not sign contracts to remain the same people forever. We grow. We age. We learn. We unlearn. And sometimes, the version of us that connected with someone no longer exists in the same way.
That does not mean the friendship failed. It means life changed. We changed.
I think many of us stay in friendships out of loyalty to who we were, not honesty about who we are now. We tell ourselves, “But we’ve been friends for so long,” without asking, “Is this situation good for me in this season?”
Friendship does not always need a dramatic ending to morphe. Sometimes it just needs different expectations, more boundaries, or a different level of closeness.
It is okay to reassess. Actually, it is necessary.
Question:
Which friendship in your life needs a little re-negotiation right now?
